Smallville expands

Some familiar characters will make an appearance in Smallville, according to the show's producer.

In an interview with TV Guide, Smallville Executive Producer Al Gough said that he had plans to introduce other characters from the DC comics universe over the next two series

"We would like to expand the show a little to incorporate some of those other characters from the [DC] comics," Gough said. "[Executive Producer] Miles Millar and I have been talking about Bruce Wayne for two years, and that's something we'd certainly like to see happen in Season Three. We would also like to see Perry White, Jimmy Olsen and potentially Lois Lane - but maybe not her until season four."

He also confirmed reports that in the second season finale we'll hear the voice of Jor-El, Superman's dad, and we just might recognise who's lent his vocal talents to the role:

"We got an actor who's certainly meaningful to Superman fans," he said. "I can't say who... he is from the Superman movies. It was our first choice, so we're happy about that. It's not Marlon Brando. I can definitely tell you. Once you hear the voice, you'll know".

Is it an actor whose name begins with 'C' and ends with 'istopher Reeve', perhaps?
