Paramount Pictures has given the greenlight for Trekkies 2, a sequel to the 1997 documentary about Star Trek fans.
In the sequel actress Denise Crosby (Tasha Yar) will once again be a guide to fandom, this time globally. She'll be covering conventions in Germany, France, England, Italy, Serbia, Australia, Brazil and the United States.
One fan who has already been interviewed for Trekkies 2 is Tony Alleyne, famous for turning his flat into a replica of the Enterprise-D.
"I really enjoyed myself with the crew from Paramount," Alleyne told TrekToday. "Denise Crosby was lovely and so friendly. It was a bit surreal having someone I have watched on TNG countless times in my apartment standing on my transporter pad saying 'Beam me up, Captain'."
The production team is still looking for contributions for the film. If you want to send in your artwork and home movies, or volunteer yourself for interview, go to the link at the top of the page. Closing date for submissions is September 1st 2003.
