Professor Quatermass The head of BERG, Professor Quatermass has had a distinguished career in space exploration. Holding a PhD in the field of Astronautics, he was involved in several Ariane launches, but was driven to found BERG by his frustration at the lack of opportunity for European space projects.

John Paterson Second-in-command at BERG, Mr Paterson was educated at Oxford and has a strong scientific background, as well as a decade of engineering experience at the EU Space Institute. Along with Professor Quatermass, he was one of the main designers behind the BR7 rocket.

Dr Ludwig Reichenheim Dr Reichenheim joined BERG from the German Aerospace Research Establishment one year ago, where he completed astronaut training. He holds a doctorate in Planetary Sciences from the University of Aachen, specialising in the effects of cosmic rays in the upper atmosphere and beyond.

Victor Caroon Mission mathematician Vincent Caroon is BERG's longest serving astronaut, joining the group two years ago along with his wife Judith. He holds an MA in Mathematics with Astronomy from Cambridge, and has studied Astronavigation at NASA.

Charles Greene The most experienced astronaut with the Group, Charles Greene originally trained as a pilot with the RAF, then moved to the EU Space Institute to become their first active British astronaut. His 117 hours of space experience include an ISS resupply mision, and he has also worked in Mission Control.

Dr Gordon Briscoe BERG's medical Doctor, Dr Briscoe is an expert in the treatment of space-related ailments such as weightlessness-related muscular degeneration. He has been with the Group for just over a year.

Judith Caroon Holder of a Masters degree in Applied Mathematics from Durham, Judith Caroon has been assistant to Professor Quatermass for two years now. She is deeply involved in BERG's experimental launches - not least though her husband, astronaut Victor Caroon.
