The Simpsons | Episode Guide | Season Two
Dancin' Homer

Homer's butt brings his team success.

Episode 7F05
Written by Ken Levine and David Isaacs
Directed by Mark Kirldand
Also starring: Pamela Hayden
Special guest voices: Ken Levine (as Dan Horde), Daryl L. Coley, Tony Bennett (as themselves), Tom Poston (as Capital City Goolball)

Premise: Homer becomes a baseball mascot for a local team, thanks to his butt-swinging dance to The Baby Elephant Walk. The team's subsequent high scores bring him to the attention of the major league head hunters and big commmercial sponsors. But will success spoil Homer?

Features: Barney, Moe, Otto, Mr Burns, Smithers, Bleedin' Gums Murphy, Helen Lovejoy, Ned Flanders, Milhouse, Janey, Patty and Selma, the two barflies.

Couch: The Simpsons, minus Maggie, rush in and sit down and Maggie peeks out of Marge's hair.

Trivia:

  • The Duff Brewery appears to be in Capital City which is some 220 miles away from Springfield.

Song: Capital City sung by Tony Bennett.

Notes: Understanding baseball isn't really a requirement for this episode, as the humour doesn't come from the games so much as the personalities. Tony Bennett's cameo is great, and Homer's dance has rightly become legendary.
