Premise: A reformed Sideshow Bob has been released from jail and proposes marriage to Selma. Only Bart sees through Bob - but can he convince everyone else that Selma's luxury honeymoon could lead to her gory death?

• Sideshow Bob wins the Best Supporting Performer in a Children's Show Emmy. His co-nominees are Droopy Drawers, Colonel Coward, Pepito the Biggest Cat in the World, and Suck-Up, the vacuum.

Homage: Black Widow (Bob Rafelson, 1987) provides some of the main plot elements, particularly nobody believing Bart's pleas that Sideshow Bob is dangerous. Sideshow Bob's prisoner number is 24601, the same as Jean Valjean's in Victor Hugo's novel Les Miserables. At the Happy Sumo karaoke, Sideshow Bob and Selma sing Somethin' Stupid, a 1967 hit for Frank and Nancy Sinatra.

Look out for: Lisa's reaction to the screening of an episode of US cartoon series Dinosaurs - and Bart trying to convince Homer of Bob's evil plan.

Notes: A terrific show, with Kelsey Grammer back in full force as Sideshow Bob Terwilliger. Additional touches, such as the dinosaurs gag and Bob's reaction to McGyver, make the whole thing great fun.
