The Simpsons | Episode Guide | Season Four
Marge in Chains

Was Marge the gunman on the grassy knoll?

Episode 9F20
Written by Bill Oakley and Josh Weinstein
Directed by Jim Reardon
Also starring: Pamela Hayden, Tress MacNeille, Maggie Roswell
Special guest voices: David Crosby (as himself), Phil Hartman (as Troy McClure, Lionel Hutz)

Premise: The dreaded Osaka flu hits Springfield. In all the confusion, Marge accidentally pockets a bottle of Colonel Kwik-E-Mart's Kentucky Bourbon, and ends up on trial accused of the Kennedy assassination.

Features: Troy McClure, Dr Nick, Principal Skinner, Mother Skinner, Patty and Selma, Chief Wiggum, Kent Brockman, Arnie Pie, Otto, Quimby, Mr Burns, Smithers, Dr Hibbert, the Flanderses, Grampa, Apu, Helen Lovejoy, Lionel Hutz, Miss Hoover, Rev. Lovejoy, the Springfield DA, Dr Frink, Snake, Milhouse, Nelson, Lou, Barney.

Couch: The Simpsons rush in - but they've shrunk.

Trivia:

  • The Osaka flu speaks with the voice of Snake.
  • Quimby's motto is Corruptus in Extremis.

Homage: Flanders laughs sinfully at an episode of US sitcom Married With Children.

Hi, I'm Troy McClure, you may remember me from: such films as P Is For Psycho and The President's Neck Is Missing.

Itchy and Scratchy in: Germs of Endearment.

Mmmmm: ...pie.

Notes: 'Can you imagine a world without lawyers?' We like Bart's plan to rescue Marge from prison by becoming the glamorous Bartina, and Lionel Hutz is supremely inept - 'I move for a bad court thingy,' he tells the judge.
