Premise: The Winfields move away and the Powers move in. Bart is attracted to Laura Powers immediately, while Marge befriends single mum Ruth. Bart believes that a romance is blooming, until Laura meets Jimbo Jones and the young Simpson learns how green jealousy can get.

Features: Mrs Winfield, Captain McCallister, Kearney, Dolph, Dutchman Waiter, Apu, Lionel Hutz, Grampa, Jimbo Jones, Principal Skinner, Judge, Springfield DA, Moe, Barney, the two barflies.

Couch: The sofa falls through the floor.

Trivia:

  • The company the Powers employ to move are Clumsy Student Movers.
  • Bart and Laura play Escape from Death Row at the amusement arcade.
  • The Simpsons' address is given here as 1094 Evergreen Terrace.

Mmmmm: ...shrimps.

Look out for: Homer's useless attempts to talk to Bart about women, comparing them to refrigerators and beer. The fate of Abby, Bart's original babysitter.

Notes: A fun episode, introducing the Powers family (Ruth is the star of Marge on the Lam. This is the last appearance of the Winfields, and only Mrs Winfield is seen.
