Premise: To try and put an end to Bart's wayward lifestyle, Homer and Marge opt to enrol him in a military school. Delighted to see that the discipline and curriculum at the school are far better than at Springfield Elementary, Lisa signs up as well. However, the other, all-male, students accept Bart but despise Lisa, and the two siblings find themselves on opposite sides of the popularity fence once more.

Couch: The sofa and family are suspended upside down from the ceiling, until they drop to the floor.

Trivia: Rommelwood, the military school, has never had a female student in all 185 years of its existence. Marge ends the audio-cassette letters to Lisa, and on one she sings You Are My Sunshine.

Look out for: The bizarre motto for the camp is I'll Die Before I Surrender, Tim. And we like Maggie putting extra pacifiers in her ears!

Notes: A very dull episode indeed, a waste of Willem Dafoe, and a hackneyed Bart versus Lisa plot that outlives its welcome very early on. The three boys Bart befriends might just as well be Jimbo, Dolph and Keamey, and Rommelwood might just as well be Springfield Elementary. All this proves is that when the chips are down, the younger Simpsons stick together and overcome adversity. But they nearly always do.
