The Simpsons | Episode Guide | Season Nine
Girly Edition

Bart and Lisa battle it out on the newsroom floor.

Episode 5F15
Written by Larry Doyle
Directed by Mark Kirkland
Also starring: Pamela Hayden, Tress MacNeille, Russi Taylor
Special guest voice: Marcia Wallace (as Ms Krabappel)

Premise: Lisa is made anchor of a new kids' news programme, but it is Bart's charisma that gets noticed and the two start up a battle, both on and off-air, to be the best TV presenter. Homer, meanwhile, decides to adopt a monkey called Mojo, much to Marge's alarm.

Features: Mr Burns, Smithers, Grampa, Jasper, Kent Brockman, Skinner, Groundskeeper Willie, Lunchlady Doris, Milhouse, Martin, Nelson, Sherri and Terri, Lewis, Richard, Ralph, Janey, Krusty.

Couch: A human hand spins the picture, leaving everything a blur of colour.

Trivia:

  • The place Homer gets Mojo from is called Animal Assistants, and is for disabled people only.
  • A sign on the window reads As Felt in Braille Weekly.
  • Krusty is also responsible for inflicting upon the world The Mattel & Mars Bar Quick Energy Chocobot Hour.

Itchy and Scratchy In: The Glass Moan-Agerie (it's their 5,500th show).

Look out for: The sign on the truck bringing creamed corn to Springfield Elementary that simply says: Danger Creamed Corn.

Notes: A great episode, full of more than the normal quota of good jokes, but best of all is Lisa's revenge on Bart, and the mad cat-lady who goes around chucking her cats at people. It's the fact that she keeps cropping up that makes it work so well.
