Plot summary

|
 When Kevin arrives shivering and sweating, it is clear to Strange that there could there be another demon in the area.
The discovery of the body of a verger, dead by the roadside, would seem to offer the proof he needs and his curiosity is aroused further when he hears that Canon Black was one of the first to happen on the scene of the crime.
Meanwhile, Jude is concerned about the gruesome discovery for a completely different reason - her son Joey was found near the body, which reawakens her fear that he has inherited his father's devilish ways.
The results of tests carried out by consultant Mr Ravi Sita at first allay her fears, but when he too is found dead, seemingly aged by some twenty years, she realises all is not what it seems.
Are the deaths the work of the demon Wizox? Are Joey or Black involved? And is volunteer hospital visitor Miss Hawthorne really, as the children say, a witch?
