Trivia
Titles with bite: The episode title comes from the well known phrase "Once bitten, twice shy." Very apt for this plot.
Elder statesman: Melissa Jaffer (Noranti) gets to do the voiceover at last. Obviously the saying age before beauty counts for little on Farscape.
Family business: Twice Shy writer David Peckinpah is the nephew of Hollywood veteran Sam Peckinpah, responsible for classic movies The Wild Bunch and Straw Dogs.
Guest spot: Talikaa is played by Paula Arundell, who has appeared, like many Farscape regulars, in Aussie police drama Water Rats. She can next be seen as Simone in comedy thriller Bad Eggs, due out later this year.
Been here before: A couple of previous episodes are referenced here.D'Argo reminds Chiana that she brought a troublsome Vorc on board in season two's Beware of Dog. Later, when the crew realise that their minds have been messed with, they compare Talika to T'raltixx, who did much the same in Crackers Don't Matter.
Substance abuse: John refers to the extract of laka he's been using to forget Aeryn as poppers - the common slang name for the appalling headache-inducing drug amyl nitrate.
Funny money: Rygel pays with dodgycoins that look like 100 Krindars but are actually "a twelfth of that." So that means there's an eight and one-third Krindar coin in general circulation around Scarran space.
Home comforts: John's eating chocolate - he obviously took care to stock up before going back in to space.
Missing mojos: Based on what Talikaa stole, the crew's strongest traits are: John - optimism, Aeryn - emotional control, D'Argo - anger, Rygel - greed, Chiana - sex drive and Scorpius - Scarran violence.
Below the belt: Weakly indicating the memory orbs in Talikaa's nest, John oddly refers to them as nads - a phrase usually used for a delicate part of the male anatomy. It's also the name of a painful sounding hair removal system.
Little Miss Zarhbot: After blowing up Talika, John miquotes the famous nursery rhyme, changing it to, "Along came a spider, exploded beside her." Then they eat her as roasted spider soup. Yeuch.
