Plastic Mr Miyagi

Action Figures

Not quite as graceful and stylish as the stars they imitated, Kung Fu action figures were sold as 'spring-loaded powerhouses that could deliver a killer blow at the touch of a hidden button'.

'Killer blow' roughly translated as 'feeble tap', although they could still do some damage if you aimed a well-placed chop at your best friend's nose.

Many figures came complete with plastic planks of wood (ready perforated) so that mini-Karate man could skilfully chop them in two with his hand, or smash them with his elastically-charged head.
