Premise: Inspired by an especially dull night's TV viewing, Homer has a flashback to the distant days of 1993 and the birth of Maggie.

Couch: Homer enters as James Bond, viewed down the barrel of a gun.

Homage: The Simpsons are watching Knight Boat at the start of the episode, a reference to the eighties kids' adventure series Knight Rider ('Oh, there's a canal every week,' moans Bart).

Notes: A surprisingly traditional episode. The flashback to 1993 seems a bit odd, but this is a good example of a story that doesn't overly rely on set pieces and confounded expectations for its success.
