Where in the world...?

BBC World News for Children and World Class have been asking schools in different parts of the world a single question:

Where in the world would you most like to visit?

Pupils from the 6th grade of Grunnskóli Siglufjarðar in Iceland gave a variety of answers:

Spain; Italy; Australia; Denmark; China

Pupils from Igwamiti Primary School in Kenya wanted to go to Uganda and to China, they also replied:

“My partner school in the UK."
“South Africa for the World Cup."
“To visit my granparents in Nyeri, Kenya."



Pupils at Ahlcon International School, New Delhi were enthusiastic about their choice of destination:

Shubhangi, aged 14:
The world is immensely large and my attraction towards its beauty is immense. So, I would like to visit Venice because one can dive in the magnificent hypnotism of it beauty. I have not yet visited Venice but what all I have heard about it leaves me spellbound!

Simran, aged 14:
London – I dream to go. London is the capital of England and the United Kingdom. It is the UK's largest and most populous metropolitan area. It has a diverse range of peoples, cultures, and religions, and more than 300 languages are spoken within its boundaries. The top attractions of this place can make one go gaga over the place and never wish to leave it!

Vidushi, aged 14:
Global Warming? No problem, Switzerland – the safe and charming! In my opinion, Switzerland is the summer and winter paradise with favourable climate and wide-spread tourism. It encompasses a great diversity of landscapes and climates. The Engstligen waterfalls are the breathtaking and welcoming Falls I could ever imagine. The Zoological Garden Basel is the spectacle of magnificent landscape in the heart of the city. The perfect place for everyone! Who would not like to visit such a place, after the hectic and strenuous schedule of work?

Mallika, aged 15:
The place that I have always wanted to be in is… Ireland. Ireland has always fascinated me. Its beautiful countryside and rich culture have a magnetic pull. The palaces of Ireland are spectacular with their breathtaking views. The beauty of this place leaves you awestruck. This country has lush green vegetation which is magical. It’s a delicate blend of modernity with tradition. The beauty of this place makes me believe in its magic.

Shubhangi, aged 14:
Germany is the place of different cultures and the most heavenly place according to me on earth. Therefore I would really consider myself privileged if I get a chance to visit it. It is a very beautiful place with all the mesmerizing palaces and castles. It is rich in diversity also. The German engineering has really proved itself to the world with its advanced technology and really influencing industries. The most fascinating building of BMW Headquarters and the Deutsches Museum have also played a major role because of which I really wish to visit Germany once in my lifetime!

Pratik, aged 15:
My wonderland and the place I wanted to visit for a long time is Hawaii. It being not only advanced and well developed is a cultural, prosperous, beautiful and exciting place. It is not only about artificial attraction, it also has the best beaches in the world. It is also known for its cleanliness and its big hand in the global beauty. It is one of the least polluted cities, hence, beautiful. I’m now assured that one day I’ll visit this astonishing place.

I would like to go to Hiroshima (Japan) as it's a very developed and civilized city in the field of science



Astha, aged 14:

I wish to go to Dubai one day because it has attracted world attention through many innovative large construction projects and sports events. This increased my attention, coinciding with its emergence as a global city and business hub, has highlighted labour and human rights issues concerning its largely South Asian workforce. It is also home to the tallest structure and building in the world, the Burj Khalifa, which is very stylish.

Sidharth, aged 15:
I would like to visit to the United States of America as citizens of almost every country reside there. Everyone is equal in front of law and have their equal rights.

Piyush, aged 14:
I would like to visit Maldives the most because it is a country which is predicted to get drowned in about 50 years because of global warming .I want to for one last time experience its natural and cultural beauty

Vidya, aged 14:
The country which I have always dreamt of going is Switzerland. I feel that it is the most beautiful country. I like the natural scenery of the country and moreover Roger Federer belongs this country.

Kumari, aged 14:
The place which I want to visit the most in the world is Singapore. Singapore, officially the Republic of Singapore, is an island city-state off the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula, Singapore is the 5th wealthiest country in the world in terms of GDP (PPP) per capital. The attractive place of Singapore is the Southeast Asia's largest bird park; Jurong Bird Park is home to over 8,000 birds of 600 species from all over the world. American naval base is also the center of attraction.

Deepansh, aged 14:
I would like to go to I would like to go to Los Angeles, USA, because it is very developed and one of the best cyber hubs around the globe.
