Pupils in Staffordshire and Cairo are reading books together and exchanging views.
Tower View Primary pupils have become part of a global book club, reading alongside pupils at their partner school, the Mostafa Kamel Experimental School in Egypt.
Both schools are part of a 'Chatterbooks' a pilot scheme run by The Reading Agency and the British Council.
Tower View teacher Rachel Holford says that being a part of the reading group has given them a really good focus for their link with Mostafa Kamel School.
They are now on their second book 'What planet are you from?' by Lauren Child. Before Christmas they finished reading Michael Morpurgo's 'This Morning I Met a Whale' together.
Both schools have been sharing photos of themselves reading the books.
Pupils from the Mostafa Kamel Experimental School have been reading them in front of the Pyramids and Tower View Pupils have been reading them in the snow.
The Cairo school sent a bookmarks and information packs to their friends at Tower View Primary. UK pupils aged 9-11 will be replying in March.
This is the first time Tower View Primary has linked with a partner school abroad. They got involved through the British Council's Connecting Classrooms programme.
What do the children make of the link with the school in Egypt? "They love it!" Rachel says.
So far, Rachel feels there is very little difference in how the pupils from both countries respond to the books and they mostly agree on the issues raised by the books.
For example, pupils in both schools have been talking a lot about climate change since reading 'This Morning I met a Whale'.
