The Crown Jewels

The Crown Jewels

The Crown Jewels are housed in the Tower of London and have been on display to the viewing public since the 17th Century.

The Crown Jewels are brought out, dusted and polished, for the Coronation of Monarchs of the United Kingdom, and have symbolic meaning in Scotland and Wales.

In addition to their historical value, the Crown Jewels incorporate some spectacular and priceless gems. One of the grandest is the First Star of Africa, which weighs just over 530 carats.

The term Crown Jewels is also traditional slang for the male genitalia - don't you wish you'd known that before you read this page aloud?
