Royal Documentaries

The Royal Family have been the subject of countless documentaries over the years - and reported on so much that they are sometimes referred to as the 'Royal Soap Opera'.

It was seen as a huge gamble when the Palace first let camera crews into the Royal Household in the 60's. The Queen aimed to make the family more 'relevant' to the public - and it was a gamble that paid off.

Since then we have been subjected to endless accounts of anything royal, with each member of the family profiled in great detail.

Most recently the BBC aired the documentary 'Queen and Country' based on The Queen's 50 years on the throne.

At least if there's one thing that you can rely on in this life it's that there will be many more royal documentaries to come.
