offered more choice to mobile owners.
Embarrassment over phones ringing in classrooms and lecture halls,
coupled with fears about what glueing a mobile to your ear did to
your brain, boosted the trend.
Soon books similar to WW2 code manuals were being published to
explain what all those CLI ;) meant.
