Bart becomes the Springfield Billy Elliot.
Episode 2F14
Written by Brent Forrester
Directed by Mark Kirkland
Special guest voices: Mel Brooks (as himself), Susan Sarandon (as Ballet Mistress)
Premise: Homer is desperately short of cash and ends up taking out a loan from his sisters-in-law, who then belittle him at every opportunity, knowing he cannot fight back. Meanwhile, Bart discovers a new gift - he is an excellent ballet dancer.
Features: Patty, Selma, Chief Wiggum, Ms Krabappel, Principal Skinner, Milhouse, Jimbo Jones, Nelson, Dolph, Kearney, Sherri and Terri, Ralph Lewis, Richard, Groundskeeper Willie, Barney, Moe, Carl, Lenny, Hans Moleman.
Couch: The family 'beam' on to the sofa Star Trek-style.
Trivia:
- It is physical education sign-up day at Springfield Elementary, and among the sports on offer are: Ballet, Football, Hockey, Baseball, Kickball, Lap Running, Badminton, various Martial Arts and Gender Issues in Sport.
- Among the reasons Homer cannot get a good credit rating is because once, back in 3rd Grade, he grabbed a dog by its hind legs and pushed it around like a vacuum cleaner.
Look out for: Homer literally throwing Patty and Selma out of the house, and accidentally chucking Marge out as well.
Notes: Quite a fun one this, although Bart's ballet career comes to an unsurprising conclusion. Skinner's delight at Bart's choice is a joy to behold, by the way. Patty and Selma have rarely been more evil than here - they are fabulously cruel.
