Bart finds out what little girls are made of.
Episode 2F04
Written by Jonathan Collier
Directed by Susie Dietter
Also starring: Pamela Hayden, Maggie Roswell
Special guest voice: Meryl Streep (as Jessica)
Premise: Jessica Lovejoy is the sweet, angelic daughter of the local vicar. But Bart sees another side of her, a malevolent and mischievous girl out for attention. Exactly the qualities that will make him fall in love with her.
Features: Sherri (or is it Terri?), Milhouse, Lewis, Ralph, Richard, Nelson, Mr and Mrs van Houten, Rev. Lovejoy, Miss Hoover, Captain McCallister, Helen Lovejoy, Martin Prince, Miss Allbright, Dr Hibbert, Groundskeeper Willie,
Principal Skinner, Ms Krabappel, Ned Flanders, Maude Flanders, Todd Flanders, Rod Flanders, Grampa, Moe, Jasper, Lenny, Carl, Hans Moleman, Otto Mans, Apu, Chief Wiggum.
Couch: The family's eyes get to the sofa first, joined by their bodies.
Homage: Bart and Jessica's romance is, appropriately, accompanied by
Misrilou, the theme of Pulp Fiction (Quentin Tarantino, 1994).
Notes for Brits: Janet Reno is the United States Attorney General.
Notes: Poor Bart gets picked on very cruelly by Jessica in a cleverly drawn study of pre-pubescent love. We're very fond of the scene in which Bart leaps out of the window at the church, and Homer cries, 'He's jumped out of the window!'
