Episode 4F05
Written by Ian Maxtone-Graham
Directed by Jim Reardon
Also starring: Tress MacNeille
Special guest voice: Rodney Dangerfield (as Larry)

Premise: Larry, Mr Burns' long-lost illegitimate son, turns up to learn about his roots, only to incur his father's wrath. In an attempt to get sympathy, Larry joins forces with Homer and fakes his own kidnapping.

Features: The Flanders, Mr Burns, Smithers, Moe, Barney, Chief Wiggum, Lou, Eddie, Kent Brockman, Hans Moleman, Groundskeeper Willie, Principal Skinner, Lenny, Carl, Otto, the van Houtens, Dr Hibbert, Dr Nick, Miss Hoover, Apu, Jimbo Jones.

Couch: Bubble versions of the family settle on the sofa - and then pop.

Trivia:

  • Lily and Monty Burns watch Gone With the Wind at the Springfield Cinema, while Larry, Homer and Hans Moleman have to make do with Too Many Grandmas! starring Bo Derek and Olympia Dukakis.

Look out for: Homer's brain going off on its own to escape Ned Flanders.

Notes: A fun episode, with Rodney Dangerfield putting a lot of pathos into Larry - and Homer's impassioned speech atop the cinema at the climax is one of his funniest moments.
