Premise: Apu realises that his arranged marriage is about to take place, but he's not met the bride-to-be in years and decides (prompted by Homer) that the only way to avoid this is to tell his mother in India that he's already married. Trouble is, Mom comes over to meet her daughter-in-law who we know better as Marge Simpson.

Lovejoy, Helen Lovejoy, Ned Flanders, Maude Flanders, Mr van Houten, Mrs van Houten, Ruth Powers, Dr Frink, Hans Moleman, Krusty, Sideshow Mel, Captain McCallister, Apu, Sanjay.
Couch: Bart uses a spray can to graffiti the family on to the couch.
Trivia:
- No bids for Barney or the other men at the charity auction, but Apu is bought for $926.
- Kirk van Houten hopes Luanne van Houten has enough money left to pay her alimony!
- Manjula was betrothed to Apu in exchange for ten goats, an electric fan and a textile factory.
- While enjoying his bachelorhood, Apu sings Hot Blooded, a 1978 hit for Foreigner, while at the wedding, an Indian version of the Carpenters' 1970 song (They Long to Be) Close to You can be heard.
Notes for Brits: Gunter and Ernst (minus their trademark white tiger here) are two American equivalents of the Gladiators.
Notes: A good fun episode, introducing Manjula and giving a delightful guest turn to Andrea Martin as Apu's tetchy mother. How amusing to note that it's Kirk who needs money from Luanne after their divorce!
