No. 10 - Nemesis, 2002
The last outing for the Next Generation crew (or is it?), Nemesis has some great traditional set pieces held together by not very much. Romulans are nice in this one, but throwing a spanner in the works is Shinzon, a Reman-adopted clone of Picard himself, who is bent on war with the Federation. As if that's not random enough, there's also a thickie Data-prototype in the mix, some overambitious attempts to make Troi into a sex symbol via an ill-conceived mental rape scene, and an over-long ending.
Nemesis does have a great opening and some nice spaceship-ramming scenes, but given it's many misses, and commercial failure, could this spell the end of the Trek film as we know it?
