No. 4 - The Voyage Home. 1986

Star Trek opts for 'ecological comedy time-travel drama' with surprisingly enjoyable results. The crew have to return to 20th century Earth to retrieve a pair of hump-backed whales (don't ask), leading to witty culture clash comedy as Kirk, Spock and co acquaint themselves with eighties LA. The best of the films thus far, showing how successful Star Trek can be when it relaxes enough to satirise itself.
