Interviews | Robert Duncan McNeill
Quite a responsibility

Do you think about the legacy of Star Trek that you're contributing to?

Picture I guess so. As an actor, you cant think about that thing when youre acting or doing it, you just have to try to tell the best story you can and be as honest as you can, and entertain people the best way that you can. What people do with it after that is not in my control, really. If they want to dissect the episodes and if they want to watch them a hundred times and everything, I thats great; but you cant think about all that when youre doing it.

I suppose its amazing, when people have come to visit our set, they come in with these huge expectations of all these experiences theyve had over thirty years of watching Star Trek, and they see the space ship and theyre like, Oh, my God, its so real, I cant believe Im here, and, for me its like, Yeah, its work, this is where I come to work, . You get a little jaded to it, I guess.
