Do you feel a heavy responsibility to the fans?
It is quite a responsibility and I take it seriously. And I think to show anything less than that is not only extremely undignified and very arrogant, but its really biting the hand that has fed one so generously and unconditionally, and Im not about to do that. I am often fond of saying the Trekkers are passionate about a hobby, their hobby is Star Trek. You and I will go and see a musical, we can honour a group of violinists, we dont have to play the violin, do we, but we understand that its intriguing and very moving to them. Thats what I think Star Trek is to these people. They are by and large very imaginative, very intelligent people, and they certainly have been more than generous to me.
