Sally Clarke (Catherine Dent) is a lonely housewife whose life is permanently altered after she spends a night of passion with John (Eric Close), a handsome stranger. John is in fact the alien survivor of a spacecraft that was downed outside of Roswell, New Mexico.

After realizing that she is pregnant, Sally raises her alien-hybrid son Jacob (Anton Yelchin) with his half-siblings Tom (Ryan Hurst) and Becky (Chad Morgan).

They are for the most part a 'normal' family until the government begins to hunt Jacob for information and experimentation. Jacob spends most of his life hiding from the government, and his legacy is passed on to his daughter Lisa (Emily Bergl).

Lisa is taken aboard an alien craft where she is impregnated by Charlie Keys, giving birth to their remarkable daughter, Allie (Dakota Fanning), whose story is at the heart of Taken.
