Amy Madison (Elizabeth Anne Allen)

Amy Madison first came to the attention of Buffy and her friends when she was auditioning for the Sunnydale Razorbacks' cheerleading team, in 'The Witch'. Amy's mother, Catherine, had been a famous cheerleader while a student at Sunnydale, so there was enormous pressure for Amy to follow in her footsteps. After a series of bizarre "accidents" affecting the cheerleaders Buffy and the gang discovered that Amy's mother had been switching bodies with her daughter, by witchcraft, so that she could relive her glory days. After a fight Buffy managed to trap Catherine inside one of her own cheerleading trophies.

In 'Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered' we find that Amy has been dabbling in the occult. After being ditched by Cordelia, Xander forces Amy to create a love potion, but her spell goes awry, and Xander finds himself the centre of attention for all of Sunnydale's females. After temporarily turning Buffy into a rat, Amy is persuaded to stop casting spells.

Ironically Amy herself was turned into a rat after being caught up in the mob hysteria against witches (in 'Gingerbread'). Tied to a stake, and about to be burnt alive, she cast a spell which, unfortunately, Willow has not been able to reverse. Amy now lives in a cage in Willows room, and is delighted with her new exercise wheel and bell
