Emma Samms

Emma Samms' entry into the world of entertainment began as a toddler.

Inspired by her mother, Emma began ballet lessons at age two, was accepted into the Royal Ballet School at age 11 and retired due to a hip injury by 16. The injury compelled Emma to explore new fields and she began modelling.

It was not long before Emma began to expand her horizons toward a new challenge: acting. Her first film audition won her the starring role as Princess Zuleria in the motion picture fantasy Arabian Adventure opposite Christopher Lee and Mickey Rooney, going on to win the British Film Industry's award for Most Promising Newcomer.

Emma relocated to the United States where she began making guest appearances on television. Her big break came when she was chosen to portray Holly Sutton on the daytime drama General Hospital. Emma then joined the Carrington/Colby household as Fallon on the prime-time dramas Dynasty and The Colbys.

In between acting, Emma has become a respected professional photographer and writer, but her true passion has been the Starlight Foundation, an international organisation she co-founded to enhance the lives of seriously ill children through wish granting, recreation programmes and entertainment activities.

Recently, she returned to our screens playing the recurring role of Elisabeth Woods in BBC One's Holby City.
