How to play

Crown

It's all over!

As you've probably noticed, the treasure hunt is now over.

For the record, here are the details of how it was played.

What's the prize?

The aim of the game is to win the golden Crown of Charlemagne, worth around £2,000.

Daily puzzles

Each weekday between 1 November 2004 and 3 December 2004 we will set a new puzzle. We might ask you to listen for a clue on a radio or TV show, go and find something at a specific location, follow an internet trail, or something even more unexpected.

As soon as you think you have the correct answer, head over to the Messagboard and post your answer. A new message thread will be set up each day to collect answers. The first correct answer on each thread will win a VIP Pass to the Ghosts of Albion Event.

Museums

Even if you weren't the first person to post the correct answer to a clue, you can still win a VIP Pass. Collect what you believe to be all five correct answers during the week, enter them into the boxes on the Ghosts of Albion Home Page on the Friday and hit Unlock Answer.

If all five answers are correct, you will discover the location of many more tickets, hidden at a museum somewhere in the UK. A different museum will feature each week.

Go to the museum, pick up a form and solve the puzzles there. If your answers are correct, you can win a VIP Pass there and then.

The Ghosts of Albion Event

This is being held at the Prince Charles Cinema, London, on 18 December 2004, between 1-3pm. As well as the finalé of the treasure hunt, you'll be able to see Ghosts of Albion on the big screen and meet many of the cast and crew.

Chris Maslanka, the UK's top enigmatologist, will then challenge the audience to find the ultimate winner of the Crown by a process of elimination. One winner will walk away with the Crown of Charlemagne, a unique item currently worth around £2,000. There'll be runner-up prizes of DVDs, signed posters and other goodies too.

Further details can be found on the Rules and FAQ pages. Good luck!
