The Magnificent Seven

The Magnificent Seven
This epic Western was a remake of Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samurai (Shichinin no samurai).

Swap 17th Century Japan for 19th Century Mexico and pick cinema's most sinister slap-head to lead some of the decade's top male leads and you've got a sure fire hit!

Steve McQueen, James Coburn, Charles Bronson, and Robert Vaughn were amongst the motley crew, led by Yul Brynner as a hero with the least charismatic name "Chris Adams".

The desperate villagers of a Mexican outpost, constantly under attack by bandits, hire the seven crack gunslingers to sort out the invaders once and for all.

Mix the whole thing up with a cracking, Oscar Nominated soundtrack from Elmer Bernstein and you've got a movie that's right up there with any Western.
