Sara Cawood and Sara Cox

The Girlie Show

This tacky late night fodder took over from cult Channel 4 hit The Word and, in its brief lifetime, launched the career of Radio 1 DJ Sara Cox.

It featured ill-judged weekly routines 'Natural Born Gorillas' and 'Men Behaving Sadly', along with various B-list celebrities talking to core presenters Sara Cox and Sara Cawood.

The London Evening Standard pretty much summed up the show's appeal. "Take a girl - better still take three girls. Dress them up in nothing much at all. And get them to talk about, well anything as long as it's about sex."
