Voyage Home screening

Voyage Home screening

Much loved Star Trek film The Voyage Home will be broadcast this Sunday on BBC1.

It's the one with the whales! This weekend sees a treat for Trek fans, as 1986 film The Voyage Home will be shown on BBC1 - perfect viewing for a lazy Sunday afternoon.

The Original Series crew, in disgrace with Starfleet, become Earth's only hope after a mysterious probe begins wrecking the planet. Our heroes have no option but to return to the late 20th Century in order to rescue an endangered whale.

As well as a great plot and Spock in a headband, the film also contains Captain Kirk's wonderful line, "No, I'm from Iowa. I just work in outer space," and is worth watching for that alone.

The Voyage Home will be shown on BBC1 at 1.15pm on Sunday 18th January.
