How the Star Trek movies compare to other science fiction on film

Picture Star Trek movies are budgeted differently because we can make them for less money than big sci-fi movies and because we have some of the sets built. I also think its fair to say that with Star Trek movies, whilst there are special effects certainly (and the audience come to expect special effects), theyre built around the relationships, the family, and they just happen to be in space. A lot of other sci-fi movies are built around the visual effects, and thats secondary on our shows.
