Classic TV | Animal Magic
Introduction
Animal Magic Launched on 13th April 1962, Animal Magic was intended to teach children all about animals and their care in a fun and entertaining way.

Although a number of presenters fronted the show, it is Johnny Morris that most people remember as being its star.

Dressed as a zookeeper, he entertained children and adults alike, adopting an anthropomorphic approach - creating different voices for the animals. He was an instant hit and made stars out of Dotty the Lemur et al.

Joining Johnny over the years were Tony Soper, naturalist Gerald Durrell and Terry Nutkins.

Animal Magic ran for 21 years and for more than 400 editions.
