Paisley

Paisley

You know a fashion craze has hit the big time when Barbie's boyfriend Ken is wearing it. Yes, our very own Ken was dressed in Paisley prints in the '60s - as was everyone else.

The original Paisley design originated in the Middle East (unless you ask a Scot) but eventually found its way to the western fashion world.

The ultimate in cool was a bright fluorescent Paisley shirt, cut from a soft wool fabric with a colourful, woven or printed swirled pattern of abstract curved shapes.

The design became synonymous the hippie movement of late Sixties.
