Home pride
During his time with the show Tim became known for his ever changing hair-do and for mentioning his home town of Wrexham at every opportunity. During his last show, the mayor of Wrexham was invited into the studio to present Tim with a silver salver. He also faced a penalty shoot out from members of Wrexham FC.
Harrowing report
On 27th June 1995 the show featured a harrowing report from Auschwitz. Diane-Louise walked past the barbed wire fence surrounding the camp and calmly told how "millions of innocent people were killed simply because of their religion or race." She laid a bouquet on a memorial stone, and read the inscription: "Let this place be a cry of despair and a warning to humanity."
Marathon man
In 1996 Tim Vincent took part in the New York marathon. Out of 26,530 runners, Tim finished in 15,368th place in a time of four hours and twenty-six minutes, raising lots of money for the Blue Peter Paperchain Appeal in the process.
Free falling
In 1994 Stuart Miles followed in the footsteps of John Noakes and Janet Ellis and took up free fall parachute jumping. Stuart joined the R.A.F. Falcons for training and after two years and fifty jumps later he took part in his first practise display with them. He then took part in a full public Falcons display in 1997.
