With the departure of Sarah Greene, who had decided to pursue acting work, the search was on to find a replacement. Luckily, the team didn't have to look very hard as the BBC already had the ideal candidate - Janet Ellis, presenter of Jigsaw.
Janet proved just as popular as Sarah - equally at home making a make, jumping out of a plane or dressing up.
But no sooner was she settled in than Peter Duncan decided to return to acting and present Duncan Dares; a Go With Noakes for the 80s.
Unfortunately, blonde-haired, blue-eyed Michael Sundin proved a short-lived replacement, so Peter was tempted back.
These were the days of Simon as a Christmas tree, Janet's free fall record attempt, vandalism in the Blue Peter garden, and daring Duncan.
