Bagpuss (1974)

The clip should play automatically after a few seconds. If not, click here.

Bagpuss was apparently meant to be a ginger cat. Peter Firmin ordered some marmalade-cat coloured fabric to make Bagpuss, but when it arrived, it was pink not ginger. So the story goes. The characters were Bagpuss, Madeleine, Gabriel the toad, Professor Yaffle, the Mice and of course Emily.

For more Bagpuss information and clips have a look at Bagpuss in the Classic TV section.
