Match of the Day (1964)

The clip should play automatically after a few seconds. If not, click here.

The BBC first broadcast Match of the Day in 1964 and this footage is from that very year. No titles, no fancy computer generated titles, nothing. Just a bloke telling you who's commentating on today's football league match - Wally Barnes apparently.

If you listen carefully you can hear the Beatles singing "She loves you, yeh yeh yeh".
