The Los Angeles County lifeguards provided the backdrop and an excuse for lots of scantily clad women running about on the beach supposedly rescuing lives.
In charge of the lifeguards was Chief Hunk David Hasselhoff who also thought up the programme.
The lifeguards patrolled Malibu Beach worrying about office politics and drowning children but did little else.

he didn't make it further than the German charts.
