performed - like his earlier hit Fame - almost completely by unknowns
who attended massive open auditions in Eire.
The Commitments made a short-lived rock star out of big-boned lead
singer Andrew Strong and provided a first 'blink and you'd miss
it' glimpse of musicians Jim and Andrea Corr, who would later go
on to significantly bigger things.
