Trailed in the tabloids as 'sex, sun and sangria', Eldorado was set in a Spanish fishing village with the community of ex-patriots as the focus.
It was slated by the critics for its wooden actors and uninspiring
storylines and was axed by the BBC after just one year.
It was then the most ambitious series awarded to an independant
company by the BBC. The set, built in the Spanish mountain area
of Coin, still stands to this day - haunted by the ghosts of Marcus
Tandy and the other characters.
