England really was football crazy in 1996 especially when for one
glorious minute it looked as if England really was going to win
a major tournament on home turf.
Merchandise flooded into and out of the shops. Everything had the
Euro 96 logo on it - even apples.
A whole range of footballs, from £1 miniature ones up to
professional £30 ones, were produced to cash in on the event.
