Stand by for action

Cult stars unite for action hero TV movie.

William Shatner, Lee Majors and Robert Wagner will team up to fight crime in Action Heroes - an upcoming TV movie for the American ABC network.

According to Hollywood trade paper Variety, the trio will play washed-up television action heroes who start up their own private investigation film, using their remaining star charisma and experience playing make-believe heroes to fight crime in Los Angeles.

Majors shot to fame in the 1970s playing Six Million Dollar Man Steve Austin, whilst Wagner starred alongside Stephanie Powers and a small dog in Hart to Hart before becoming Doctor Evil's right hand man in the Austin Powers film series.

William Shatner, of course, played the legendary James T. Kirk in Star Trek, before fighting crime in T.J. Hooker, writing a popular series of Kirk spin-off novels and breeding horses.

Action Heroes is expected to be screened in America later this year.
