Smallville round up
Father of Lois Lane announced, no Batman for show.
Fresh after the announcement that Erica Durance will play Lois Lane in Smallville, comes the news of who will play her father.
Michael Ironside, star of Canadian sci fi shocker Scanners, will play General Sam Lane in the series, reports the Comics Continuum website.
Speaking at the Comic-Con International event, the show's executive producer Al Gough said, "You get to see that father-daughter dynamic played out, which is something we haven't really done on the show before."
Gough also confirmed that Erica Durance will play Lois in at least 13 episodes of the fourth season.
Durance is no stranger to cult TV - she has appeared in episodes of both Tru Calling and Andromeda.
Rumours are gathering that the filming of the Batman Begins movie with Christian Bale has put paid to appearance of Bruce Wayne in Smallville, at least for the time being.
