Review: Dead Zone 2

Finding Rachel part two - did Johnny do it?

Well, no. But I don't think we're supposed to believe for a second that the college accountant did it, either!

Gripping as this episode is, the complete lack of a denoument is disappointing. It's not helped by the hovering feeling of "There's more going on here than we can tell you. We just can't say what for the moment."

For novice viewers like ourselves, it's just a little depressing - we really want to like the show, we've seen some really exciting stuff, and now we're stung with a "wait till the end of the season" kind of ending.

There's no sense of closure - the Senator's elected thanks to those rigged machines, the College accounts remain fiddled, we don't really know who killed Rachel, and there's no more mention of those weird visions of a future earth that talk back. Hmmnn.

That said, the special effects are amazing, and all the actors give it their very best shot - especially the ooze-tastic Flannery as the scheming Senator. Bring him back soon please.
