Dead Zone 6

Review: Walt's in big trouble in No Questions Asked.

Walt is Johnny's best friend, and the husband of his former fiancée. Unfortunately, he is also a sheriff going through a bad patch - his wife's had an affair with Johnny, his son's discovered that Johnny is his real father, and now he's haunted by a ghost from his past.

Yup, it's an inner turmoil episode, as Johnny helps him lay to rest his dark past. We're promised disturbing, seedy grit. Instead, we discover that before he got married, he was having an affair with his best friend's wife, and helped cover up a death. Oh, some drugs money is put to good use - but it's not really earth-shattering.

For a dull episode, this is actually rather good. There's a great guest cast. Greg Grunberg (Agent Weiss from Alias) makes the most out of Frankie the best-friend-gone-bad, and Pam Hyatt as his snippy mom.

There's also some delightful dialogue - especially for Nicole DeBoer, playing Walt's wife. I know she spends most of her time with her hands on her hips, but this week she at least gets some fun stuff to say while baking scones.
