Seems Like a Nice Boy

Radio Four airs a tribute to Larry Grayson.

Seems Like a Nice Boy (Tuesday at 11.30am) traces the Generation Game host's career from his early days in working-men's clubs to TV peak as the nation's favourite.

Larry Grayson early career saw him perform as a drag-act, called Britain's Miss-Leading Lady, and billed as "the reason why troops went east... and west".

Television success came in 1971 when he appeared in an episode of ATV's Saturday Variety and became a series regular.

But it is as host of The Generation Game that he is most famous - during his time ratings soared to 18 million.

Seems Like a Nice Boy is on Radio Four Tuesday 11 January at 11.30am.
