Afterlife

SFX has details of a new supernatural series.

Afterlife stars The Second Coming's Lesley Sharp as medium Alison Mundy, who receives messages from the other side; a skill developed after a car accident.

Teachers star Andrew Lincoln plays Dr Robert Bridge, a psychology lecturer. A sceptic, he visits Munday after he receives a vision of his son at Alison's home.

Creator Stephen Volk (the man behind Ghostwatch) told SFX that the series took ten years to make it to the screen, and that it was Lesley Sharp that eventually got it off the ground.

"She absolutely loved it and pestered ITV relentlessly, asking, þWhen are you gonna commission this series?' It's just so brilliant to have an actor be as enthusiastic as her, as well as the fact that they're so good and bring so much to it.ú

Set in Bristol and consisting of six hour-long episodes, Afterlife will be screened on ITV in the autumn.

The March edition of the new look SFX is out now and also includes a look at the new series of Doctor Who, plus features on Ben Browder joining Stargate and an interview with David Boreanaz.
